Obtain the ASME MO Certificate is based on the "Quality System Program", which is performed only by ASME organizations by their authorized auditors. This certificate is issued for a period of 3 years and the ASME organization assesses the "Quality Manual" and its implementation during the audit survey. Manufacturers who are certified according to ASME Sec. III / NCA-3800 "Material Organization" (MO) may not have a contractual relationship with an accredited inspection agency, but it is common for organizations to consult the inspection agency. The reason is clear, accredited inspection agency according to ASME Sec. III performs comprehensive services for organizations with N, NPT or NS stamp, where the certification process is considerably more extensive and demanding.

What responsibilities must the MO organization fulfill:

• the material organization must establish, document, implement and maintain the "Quality System Program" as required by NCA-3850;
• the MO must determine rules for marking of the material and traceability, which must keep under control,
• quality assurance during production including inspection, testing, repair and other material processing,
• evaluation, qualification and auditing of suppliers if they do not hold the MO certificate,
• approval and control of operations performed by your suppliers,
• preparation of the Certified Material attest CMTR,
• delivery of the material.

The following points must be ensured in terms of pre-joint review survey preparations:

• Quality System Manual according to NCA-3853,
• preparation of demonstration parts or real order,
• registration at the ASME organization via CA Connect,
• make a deposit and request a Survey Audit term,
• control of the demonstration part including documentation before the joint review,
• joint review,
• issue of the MO certificate according to the recommendations of the ASME Nuclear audit team.

Composition of the survey audit team and duration:

• audit team is composed of min. two ASME representatives,
• audit duration is min. 3 days to a maximum of 5 days.

What does the API mean? American Petroleum Institute is the largest U.S. trade association for the oil and natural gas industry. It claims to represent about 600 corporations involved production and distribution in petroleum industry. The Certification is very valuable marketing tool for gain of new customers and strong quality indicator for potential customers. API Monogram is voluntary licensing program designed to facilitate the consistent manufacturing of product that conforms to API standards. 

Following steps are necessary:

• Buying API Standards. You should buy at least API Spec Q1 (Quality System Requirements) and Product Specification (for example API Spec 5CT – Casing and Tubing)
• System Implementation–Quality management system requirements. Management responsibility, Organization Capability, Documentation requirements, Control of records.

• System Implementation – Product realization. Planning, Risk Assessment and Management, Purchasing, Product and servicing provision, control of Nonconforming product, etc.

• Registration with the API Organization. Your company has to register and pay Non-Refundable fees to API Organization. This step can be realized during the Implementation of system - depends on readiness of company.(From 3 to 6 months before Audit)
• Internal API pre-Audit. Detailed system review regarding to following API Audit.(From 1 to 2 months before audit)
• API Audit performed by API Auditor in your company.Renewal audit is after each 3 year period.

2. Based on your customers' requirements and your company's preparation we will propose a degree of certification,
3. Based on the Root gap analysis, we will prepare a quotation and suggest the most suitable certification organization,
4. Implementation of the system according to the results of "Root gap analysis". If your company has experience with this system, it is likely that you can proceed directly to the pre-joint review. The condition is an established quality manual according to ISO 3834,
5. Pre-joint review with a certification organization and a representative of our company, where we guarantee a successful result from the pre-audit,ISO 3834 audit from our participation,
